If you’ve spent the last few years mourning the loss of McDonald’s salads or endlessly begging the fast-food giant to bring back its iconic snack wraps, your summer is about to get a whole lot better.
Starting July 21, McDonald’s is shaking up its menu with the nationwide, limited-time release of a brand-new Caesar sauce. Described as a rich, savory blend of parmesan cheese accented with bright notes of lemon and garlic, this sauce is explicitly designed to give the chain’s chicken lineup a massive summer upgrade.
But the real news is not just the condiment itself, it’s the classic menu items making a return alongside it.
The Caesar Snack Wrap is Finally Back (With a Catch)
For years, the internet has been practically screaming for McDonald’s to bring back the Snack Wrap. While this isn’t a permanent return of the entire classic line, McDonald’s is officially introducing the Caesar Snack Wrap.
Retailing for a budget-friendly $2.99, this wrap features a warm flour tortilla stuffed with shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, the new creamy Caesar sauce, and a McCrispy chicken strip.
And yes, there’s even more good news regarding that chicken strip.
A Much-Needed Chicken Upgrade
When McDonald’s launched its McCrispy Strips as a permanent menu fixture, the reception was… mixed. The biggest, most persistent complaint from fast-food fans was that the “McCrispy” strips weren’t actually crispy.
McDonald’s listened. Alongside the Caesar sauce launch, the chain is officially debuting a reformulated version of the McCrispy Strips, now upgraded with a light, ultra-crunchy panko breading. If you want to try the new recipe in its purest form, you can order the strips a la carte and grab a Caesar Dip Cup on the side for dipping.
Rounding Out the Menu: The Bacon Caesar McCrispy
If wraps aren’t your thing, the new flavor profile is also getting slapped onto a premium chicken sandwich. The Bacon Caesar McCrispy features:
- A classic juicy McCrispy chicken filet
- Thick-cut applewood smoked bacon
- Crispy onions and crinkle-cut pickles
- Fresh lettuce and Roma tomatoes
- A generous smear of the new Caesar sauce on a toasted potato roll
Why Now?
McDonald’s is jumping onto a massive food trend. Over the last year, social media has been completely obsessed with Caesar-style recipes, from Caesar smash tacos to custom dressings. Putting a Caesar wrap on the menu is a clever, timely play to capture that viral hype.
Furthermore, because McDonald’s controversially axed its salad lineup back in 2020, these new releases are the closest thing American customers will get to a McDonald’s Caesar salad, only this time, it’s conveniently wrapped in a tortilla or served on a potato bun.
Mark your calendars for July 21. These items are only sticking around for a limited time, so grab them while they’re hot (and extra crispy).
